Message from Slough police station,Wednesday 18 November which is a witness appeal to a local incident:

Robbery - Slough

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred in Slough yesterday (17/11).

At around 12.10pm, a 28-year-old woman was walking down an alleyway between Borderside and Shaggy Calf Lane, taking her children to nursery, when she was approached by a man.

He attempted to snatch her handbag, which was hanging on the pushchair. A struggle then ensued, during which the contents of the bag fell on the floor. The man then grabbed her purse and keys and ran off.

During the struggle, the woman's daughter, a 2-year-old girl, sustained injuries to her mouth and head. She was taken to Wexham Park Hospital for treatment and later discharged.

The man is black, in his early twenties, 5ft 7ins and medium build. He has short black hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing a black puffa-style jacket, black jeans and black Adidas trainers.

Det Con Gareth Warr, who is investigating the incident, said: "The woman and her children have been left very shaken by this attack. As it happened in the middle of the day, it is likely that there were people in the area that may have either witnessed the incident or saw some suspicious activity. I would urge them to get in touch."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Con Warr at Slough police station via 0845 8 505 505. If you don't want to talk to police or leave your name, please contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
